Down Jackets

Down Jackets were invented by Eddie Bauer back in the 1940’s. A keen outdoorsman, Eddie developed hypothermia on a fishing trip. He found that Wool was too heavy for carrying around on these sorts of trips, so Eddie, determined not to develop hypothermia again, set about lining a jacket with something else. Only a few years later, Eddie Bauer patented the Goose Down Jacket, and this is still one of the best down jackets around.

The down jacket has been a great invention, and the down jacket is still incredibly popular today as an item of casual wear or workwear.
